My mindfulness journey began in 1997 during early recovery from alcoholism.
I wasn’t looking for enlightenment.
I was looking for a way to stay sober, be present, and learn how to live my life.
What I discovered was a path that helped me suffer less, relate to myself with greater kindness, and meet life’s challenges with more wisdom and compassion.
Nearly three decades later, those same practices continue to guide my life.
They’ve supported me through recovery, relationships, work, caregiving, grief, aging, and the ordinary joys and heartbreaks of being human.
Today I teach retreats, courses, and meditation groups and mentor people who want to bring more awareness, compassion, and freedom into their everyday lives.
I serve as a mentor in the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program founded by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield and as a Founding Advisor and Mindfulness Teacher with Banyan.
Before becoming a full-time teacher and mentor, I spent 20yrs as a certified coach and over 35yrs as a corporate executive. Those experiences help me relate these teachings to the realities of modern life and the challenges many of us face as householders trying to balance work, relationships, family, and practice.
I don’t believe freedom is found somewhere outside of our lives.
I believe it becomes possible when we learn how to meet this life with greater awareness, kindness, and wisdom.
I’d love to practice with you.
My teaching is rooted in the Insight Meditation tradition and shaped by nearly three decades of practice.
I have studied with and been influenced by teachers including Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, Joseph Goldstein, Sharon Salzberg, Ruth King, Tuere Sala, Bhikkhu Analayo, Cheri Maples, Gil Fronsdal, and others whose wisdom continues to guide my path.

In the Buddhist tradition, teachings are often offered in the spirit of dana, or generosity.
My intention is to make these teachings as accessible as possible while also honoring the time, care, training, and experience that go into offering them.
Thank you for your support.
